Farewell...

Hello guys, Arenite here!

Now this is not a normal book related post, its a farewell post. Yup, thats right. We are going to stop posting on this blog from now on. When starting this blog, we were very excited that us three friends are going have a lot of fun and this blog is going to be very fun. Kaitlin thought that it might be a little hard for us, so she said that we should have like a month of trial to see how it goes and it was pretty hard. Sometimes we don't really have time to post so we rush and the post is not that necessarily good. Kaitlin and Rin have there own blogs and I don't have the time. This is the last post, but if we ever decide to do this blog again, we will definitely start posting again.

But, as they always say, kabhi alvida na kehna (never say goodbye). Because you never know what will happen.

Arenite, Rin, and Kaitlin signing off! :)

Book Review: All The Bright Places by: Jennifer Niven

Title: All The Bright Places
Author: Jennifer Niven
Publisher: Knopf
Published on: January 6th 2015

The Fault in Our Stars meets Eleanor and Park in this exhilarating and heart-wrenching love story about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die. Soon to be a major motion picture starring Elle Fanning! Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him. Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death. When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink. This is an intense, gripping novel perfect for fans of Jay Asher, Rainbow Rowell, John Green, Gayle Forman, and Jenny Downham from a talented new voice in YA, Jennifer Niven.

My thoughts

This book is all the rage. Like literally. I wouldn't have read it so soon from when I bought it if it weren't for all the raving this book got. Plus, Spotlight Book Club was reading it so I decided to join all the glorious fun! Do I regret reading this book? Not one bit. Well, it did take an unfortunate number of 4 days to complete...

I loved the characters in this book. Finch and Violet are two people who have not a lot in common yet they become such good friends to each other. I liked that. If Violet and Finch didn't become friends and just didn't know each other this book would obviously be a lot different than it is. I also liked how these two came together because of a school project. (Even if Violet acted like she wanted nothing to do with Finch.) That's very important to have in a book, a strong relationship. If one character doesn't like another character and they are the two main characters the book, in my opinion, that won't be very fun to read. If I read a book, I want it to be happy and I can enjoy it, not be frustrated.

One of the things that scared me when I went into this book was the ending. I had heard that people thought the ending was really sad and people cried. Throughout the book, I got ideas on why the ending was so sad but I didn't want to spoil myself with the ideas and I denied the facts. Yes, I thought correct on why the ending was sad. I cried, I really did.

One of the reasons why I think I liked this book so much was because I liked Finch so much. I liked his character and how open minded he was. He was also a person where everything he said made you question everything. He wasn't afraid of being weird or expressing how he felt. Reading from him was always so fun and great. Finch's personality is one of the reasons why this book can function the way it does and I continue to love reading from and about his personality daily.

I gave this book five stars because the story and plot of this book was so great, I loved the characters, and just over all loved this book.

Book Update - The Girl From the Well

Title: The Girl From the Well
Author: Rin Chupeco

Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire

Publishing on: August 5th, 2014

A dead girl walks the streets. She hunts murderers. Child killers, much like the man who threw her body down a well three hundred years ago. And when a strange boy bearing stranger tattoos moves into the neighborhood so, she discovers, does something else. And soon both will be drawn into the world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from American suburbia to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan. Because the boy has a terrifying secret - one that would just kill to get out.

Hello guys! Arenite here! So today, I am not going to do a review because I have not had time to actually finish the book. I was extremely busy with school stuff and I only managed to read a bit of the book. I am just going to do a update, which means that this blog post will be like a journal for my feelings about this book. So far, the book is starting to really creep me out, which is a good thing because not many horror/paranormal books make me feel like that. I would think that the main character, is a good person as she kills of the murders of dead children, but I feel like that it is not going to be this was and she will turn into a villain. To prove my point further, she meets this dude that she really likes and I feel like she might do something wrong or the boy might convince her to do something wrong. Even though she is dead and the boy is alive. The boy is probably one of those "special" people that are able to see her, as someone did in the beginning and they completely freaked out. I mean I would too if I saw a ghost in the middle of the street. Thats about what I read so far (I know right, pretty sad).

Christmas in Camelot (Magic Tree House #29)
Well, I guess this was my major first push into the world of books. I was in first grade when my teacher would read this series to us. In fact, I loved the adventure and fantasy so much that I even bought the whole series myself! :P
Bridge to Terabithia
This was one of those books that I had to read together as a class. It was one of the most peculiar books I have ever read. It was basically my first sad book. It was an amazing take on the story of friendship and loss. btw if you didn't know yet, Josh Hutcherson starred in the film version (when he was still mini.)
My Sister the Vampire
When I was a small kid, I didn't really care about the well bring of a book and well--practically destroyed my copy of My Sister the Vampire:Switched. I really thought this book was fun and non-boring (if that's a word). It was a humorous take on paranormal and I loved it!
The Tale of Despereaux
So on one of those trips to the library with your class, I stumbled upon this book. And being the child that I was, I checked it out, because I thought the cover looked cute enough. I ended up enjoying the book so much that I did my book report project on it.
The Cricket in Times Square
Another wonderful, amazing book. Two words: Library Book. No other description needed.
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler
This is one of the only historical fiction books that actually got to me. It was well written and well thought out in the process.
Island of the Blue Dolphins
I very much did not know what to expect when I first saw this book. The cover wasn't all that interesting, but in the end, it became one of my favorite books at that time age.
The Witches
NOW! Here was my second take on witches. This may be one of the first books that got me to be in love with paranormal and magic.
The Witch who was Afraid of Witches
This book was originally one of my bedtime stories. I was a really interested kid when I heard this story being told. I was also really hooked on the spells :D
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
I was probably in kinder garden when I read this book. Back then, I wasn't really a reader (shock huh?). This was a really good book back then!
